Aleksandar Tomašević (1921 – 1968)
He was a conservationist and a painter. He was one of the prominent representatives of the Serbian modernist painting in the second half of the 20th century. He was a member of art groups “December Group” and “The Independent”. The inspiration for his geometric paintings is located in the Serbian medieval art heritage, frescoes, mosaics, medieval architecture decor as well as in the folk tradition.
