Bojan Bem (1936)

Bojan Bem was born in 1936 in Belgrade, where he graduated in 1962. at the Faculty of Philosophy, Department of Art History, and affirmed his work in traditional media – drawing, painting, collage. In his works, Bojan Bem revives familiar themes of urban landscape, while dealing with motifs of swimming pools and sport courts at Kalemegdan.

From the mid-60s he exhibited in numerous solo exhibitions at home and abroad, in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Venice, Dubrovnik, Ljubljana, Koper, Sarajevo, Paris, Maribor, Rome, Beijing, Moscow, Kiev and so on. In 1985 he went to Paris, where he remained for a decade and a half.

Bojan Bem is won the “Politika” Award and some other prestigious awards. His artworks are located in the Museum of Contemporary Art and the National Museum in Belgrade and in many other public and private collections.
