Branko Filipović Filo (Cetinje, 1924 – Belgrade, 1997)

Branko Filipović Filo graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade and after he completed a special course under Milo Milunović in 1955.

Under the influence of fresco painting, in 1954 he started to perform experiments with various materials on paper and small format canvas that he first exhibited in 1957. From 1958 he has exhibited all over Europe and gained the support of European critics and art historians.

He was one of the participants of the exhibitions of Informel in Belgrade held in 1982, the author of which was Lazar Trifunović. His paintings can be are found in numerous museums and private collections at home and abroad. He exhibited at the Venice Biennale in 1990.
