Čedomir Krstić (Pirot, 1923 – Belgrade, 1988)
Čedomir Krstić, was a professor at the Belgrade Faculty of Fine Arts, and a painter of high craftsmanship.
Krstić graduated at The Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade, Department of Painting, in 1952 in the class of Professor Nedeljko Gvozdenović. Then he spent a year in the master class of Đordje Andrejević Kun. He became the assistant at the Faculty of Fine Arts in 1961 and a full time professor in 1983. He painted the church in Niška Banja in 1970. He held a large number of solo exhibitions. His major retrospective exhibition had been organized in the Art Pavilion “Cvijeta Zuzorić” in 1988. He has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Yugoslavia and abroad. He participated in several important art camps. He has won several major awards, including the October Award of the City of Niš for painting in 1961, Golden palette of ULUS in 1970, First prize at the exhibition “Belgrade, the inspiration of the artist” in 1972, Special Award at the International Triennial of realistic art in Sofia in 1982. His works are kept in the National museum of Serbia and at Museum of Contemporary Art in Belgrade, the Gallery of Contemporary Art in Niš, Belgrade City Museum, Museum in Pirot and in many public and private collections in Yugoslavia and abroad.
