Mladen Srbinović (1925-2009)

Mladen Srbinović was born in Sušica (Macedonia) in 1925. He graduated in Belgrade, where he attended Mladen Jošić’s private art school. From 1947. to 1951. he studied at the Art Academy in Belgrade, in class of professors Ivana Tabaković, Nedeljko Gvozdenović, Kosta Hakman, Ljubica Sokić and Mihailo Petrov. After graduation in 1951, he attended a special course in class of professor Nedeljko Gvozdenović.

Srbinović exhibited for the first time in 1948 at the Exhibition of works by students of the Academy of Fine Arts, and independently in Belgrade in 1955. He exhibited his artworks alongside with Bosko Karanović and Stojan Celić.

He was a member of many important cultural organization, such as Serbian and Macedonian Society of Arts and Science, an art groups.

Since 1953 until 1985. he has been working as a professor at Belgrade Faculty of Fine Arts.

Besides painting and graphics Srbinović worked as an illustrator, mosaic and tapestry artist. His monumental mosaics were placed in important public and religious buildings across the country.

He died in Belgrade in 2009.
