REFLEKSIJE | REFLECTIONS, MIRA BRTKA

Mira Brtka is the bearer of new tendencies in Serbian contemporary art of the second half of the last century. He received his education in Belgrade, and built his artistic career in Rome. She left behind a large artistic opus, part of which we will have the opportunity to see during the exhibition REFLECTIONS, in the Museum of the City of Belgrade, from March 17 to May 10, 2021.

REFLECTIONS make it possible to view the diverse and multimedia opus of a multidisciplinary contemporary artist and cultural
activists, Mira Brtke.

The REFLECTIONS exhibition provides an overview of its production, from 1964, the “Roman Period”, to 2012. The exhibition presents an overview of various cycles that bring us closer to the transformation of her artistic identity, from practitioners of post-formalist experiences to representatives of new tendencies in contemporary European art, from advocates of Argan’s (Giulio Carlo Argan) project idea and Filiberto Menna’s view that art has the right to separateness, not to stand out, but to be a model for other knowledge and practices ”, until Achille Bonito Oliva approaches the concept of the transavant-garde according to which the fabric of new art is imbued with a significant dose of subjectivism and sensitivity, which should not be understood only as autobiographical. and private syndrome, but as a harmony of art and individual motives purified by the use of conscious and controlled language ”.
