Vojo Stanic (Podgorica, 1924). He graduated at the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade in 1951, at the sculpture department in the class of professorLojze Dolinar. He leaves for Herceg Novi, where he lives to this day, and begins to work as a professor at an Arts and Crafts school. He started to paint in 1954, and exhibited in 1956 for the first time in 1956. He started to work as a professor at the Pedagogy College as of 1958. He continued to work as an independent artist after it was closed in 1965. He was a member of the Montenegro Academy of Sciences and Arts. He exhibited at numerous individual and group exhibitions at home and abroad. He is represented Yugoslavia at the Venice Biennale in 1996. His paintings are found in museums, galleries and private collections worldwide. He is the winner of many award and accolades, including: the Politika prize for painting in 1970 and the Public’s award at the eight Nadezda Petrovic memorial.
